Principalʻs Message to Parents
Aloha! Ilima Intermediate School is ecstatic about the start of the 2019-2020 School Year! We invite everyone to participate in your child’s journey towards accomplishing our school’s vision: Pupukahi I Holomua or Moving Forward Together. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with families who are returning while building new ones as we welcome families of our 7th grade students. The transition to middle school involves changes in every student’s adolescent development. Our school remains confident in our ability to provide each student with meaningful opportunities to enhance their academic, personal, social, and socio-emotional growth. We are excited about our plan to support every student’s academics while also maintaining a focus on the whole child.
The new school year must start with an understanding of the information contained in this Parent-Student Handbook. Together, let us be knowledgeable about the information shared with our students’ families. A supportive environment both at home and at school increases the opportunity for increased student achievement. Our students will benefit from our combined teamwork and perseverance.
Please review the resources contained in the handbook with your child. The handbook will explain background information about our school as well as details regarding expectations and resources. Feel free to contact me with any questions at (808) 687-9300. Thank you in advance for partnership and the opportunity to make a difference in the life of your child.
